Specialist Nanny – Holiday Cover in Crete, Greece 18 Aug–2 Sept 2026
Gingham Nanny Agency is seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist Night Nanny to accompany a family on holiday to Crete, Greece, and support their young son overnight.
The child is a sociable, affectionate and engaging boy with cerebral palsy, quadriplegia and epilepsy. He is non-verbal but understands a great deal and communicates through his expressions, sounds and responses. He enjoys books, music, interaction and being spoken to and involved in what is happening around him.
About the Role:
Duration: Holiday Cover | 18 August–2 September 2026
Travel dates: Travelling to Crete on 18 August 2026 and return with the family on 2 September 2026.
Night hours: 8.00pm–8.00am
Days working: 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 August / 29, 30, 31 August and 1 September
Days off: There will be five consecutive days and nights free from 24–28 August, during which the nanny may enjoy the hotel, beach and swimming pools.
The role will include:
– Providing attentive overnight monitoring and supervision
– Supporting the child’s evening and bedtime routine
– Personal care, changing and dressing
– Assisting with feeding and hydration as required
– Repositioning and ensuring the child remains safe and comfortable
– Monitoring for any unusual movements, sounds or signs of seizure activity
– Following the family’s detailed care plan and established routines
– Communicating clearly with the parents and the other night nanny
– Maintaining accurate handover notes
The child requires full assistance with mobility and personal care and must be supervised closely at all times. His epilepsy is controlled with medication, but the nanny must remain vigilant throughout the night.
The successful candidate must have
– Previous experience supporting a child with complex physical needs
– Experience of cerebral palsy, epilepsy or neurological conditions
– Confidence providing personal care and overnight monitoring
– A calm, patient and respectful approach
– Excellent observation and communication skills
– An enhanced DBS and up-to-date Paediatric First Aid
– The right to work and travel as required
The family will provide
– Return flights to Crete
– Airport transfers
– A private bedroom in an all-inclusive hotel
– All meals and accommodation throughout the stay
– A 22kg checked suitcase and cabin bag
– Five fully paid-for rest days to enjoy the resort
