We rigorously screen each nanny and provide solutions for your unique family circumstances. We build strong relationships with some of the best childcarers in the area, not to mention the best families.

Close liaison with you is our priority. We want to fully understand your needs and want the process to be a pleasant and problem-free one.

We have a database of a variety of child carers. We familiarise ourselves with them through face to face and telephone interviews and have summarised their skills for you in our special Gingham Nannies application form. We check their qualifications, references, DBS, and first aid certificates.

By utilising our service you will save yourself hours of emails, interviews and telephone calls. We have the knowledge of DBS checks, Visa checks (if necessary), nanny qualifications, reference checks (two verbal conversations with referees) CV checks…etc. We can do this work for you! Of course you will want to interview the nanny yourselves, but we would only present you with a nanny suitable for the position you want to fill. We also look at the personality of the nanny to ensure that the needs of the family are met.

When you meet your prospective nannies we will give you tips on interviewing.

If you employ a nanny full-time (and the nanny earns £144 per week or more), you will become an employer and you will have to pay the nanny’s taxes on top of their net wage. A nanny’s gross salary, P.A.Y.E. tax and National Insurance contributions must be calculated and paid to HMRC on a weekly or monthly basis by yourselves. We provide each family with a sample contract as a part of our placement. It details the information, which should be included in a Contract of Employment between the Nanny and the Employer. The contract must be signed by both parties within two months of the employment start date. We are happy to check the contract for you once it is drawn up and double check everything has been included.

We are always available for advice and support, even after a nanny has started work.
