The Common Core Skills for Nannies course includes training in the following areas:
- Safeguarding and Child Protection
Understanding safeguarding responsibilities, recognising signs of concern, and knowing how to follow appropriate reporting procedures to ensure children remain safe. - Child Development
Developing an understanding of how children grow, learn, and develop, and how to support their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. - Health and Safety in the Home
Creating and maintaining a safe environment for children, including risk awareness, safe practices within the home, and promoting children’s wellbeing. - Supporting Children’s Learning and Development
Encouraging learning through play, routines, and everyday activities that support children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. - Professional Practice
Understanding the role and responsibilities of a professional nanny, including maintaining appropriate boundaries, confidentiality, and high standards of conduct. - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Promoting inclusive childcare practices that respect diversity and support the individual needs of every child. - Communication with Families
Developing strong communication skills when working with parents and carers, ensuring clarity, trust, and professional collaboration. - Observation and Record Keeping
Learning how to document routines, observations, and developmental milestones in a clear, factual, and professional manner.
