Dee Modric is the Founder of Gingham Nanny Agency and an experienced recruitment professional with a background in finance, business development and strategic management in the UK and overseas.
Since establishing Gingham, Dee has developed the agency into a trusted provider of nanny, maternity nurse and wider childcare recruitment services, alongside professional training and development for childcarers.
Known for her forward-thinking and strategic approach, Dee combines strong commercial awareness with a warm, professional and supportive manner. As a mother of two, she understands first-hand the importance of finding the right childcare support and is passionate about providing families with a highly personal and dependable service.
Dee works closely with both clients and candidates. Families benefit from carefully considered childcare solutions tailored to their individual circumstances, while candidates receive professional guidance, training and support to help them develop their careers and achieve their ambitions.
In 2016, Dee launched Gingham’s specialist division to support families affected by serious incidents, accidents, medical negligence and life-changing injuries. She now works closely with case managers, law firms, deputies, insurers and other professionals to provide specialist childcare recruitment and directly employed nanny services for families affected by brain injury, spinal injury, catastrophic injury, trauma and special educational needs.
Dee is committed to raising standards across the nanny and childcare sector. She has worked alongside the Department for Education and is passionate about safeguarding, professional development and improving outcomes for children and families.
Alongside her work at Gingham, Dee is a trustee of Meseret for Women, a charity supporting vulnerable single mothers and children in Ethiopia. Dee is proud to contribute her business, safeguarding and strategic experience to help support its continued development and impact.

Emily Cross
HR Manager | Employment & Compliance Specialist
Emily is the HR Manager at Gingham Nanny Agency, overseeing all aspects of people management, employment compliance, and HR strategy within a specialist childcare recruitment environment.
With a strong background in HR and recruitment, I bring a detailed understanding of employment law, contractual compliance, and best practice across the full recruitment lifecycle. This experience enables me to implement effective, ethical, and compliant HR frameworks that support both families and childcare professionals. My role focuses on policy development, staff wellbeing, and employment best practice, ensuring a high standard of professionalism, compliance, and consistency across all placements.
Edward Webb
Recruitment Consultant
As a Recruiter at Gingham Nanny Agency, passionate about connecting exceptional childcare professionals with families who value trust, quality, and discretion. I work closely with high-net-worth private families and complex clients, including those requiring specialist support during and post-litigation, ensuring each placement reflects the family’s lifestyle, expectations, additional needs, and unique dynamics.
I support both families and nannies throughout every stage of the recruitment process, offering guidance, reassurance, and clear communication to ensure a smooth and positive experience for all involved. My focus on long-term compatibility helps create successful, lasting placements built on mutual respect and understanding.
With growing expertise in social recruiting, market research, and candidate engagement, I contribute to maintaining and strengthening our agency’s reputation for excellence. I am dedicated, empathetic, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to helping families find trusted childcare professionals — and helping nannies find roles where they can truly thrive.
In addition, I actively encourage both existing nannies and professionals outside the agency to engage in our specialist training opportunities to further enhance their knowledge and skills. I also support the business operationally by assisting with onboarding processes, including setting up professional email accounts for new employees.
Caroline Zwierchowska-Dod
Safeguarding and Education Lead
Caroline is a trained teacher and a newborn and parenting specialist. A qualified maternity nurse and certified birth & postnatal doula, Caroline supports parents with all aspects of infant sleep, feeding and development.
In September 2018 Caroline joined force with Gingham Kids and now presents many courses, including supporting mums on their breastfeeding journeys, maternity, sleeping issues and many others.
Skye Sofia
Researcher & Recruitment Consultant
She spends summers working abroad in Switzerland as in a beautiful summer camp that further affirmed her love for working in a child-centred environment.
In the last year, Skye studied the fundamentals of pedagogy and teaching to gain her teaching degree (QTS and PGCE) and has since been Nannying in Cambridge.
She has since been applying her knowledge of childcare to the recruitment team behind the scenes of Gingham.
Elizabeth Smith
Working behind the scenes, Liz manages the detailed administration involved in payroll and provides a reliable point of support for our team. Her careful approach, attention to detail and commitment to getting things right help our services run smoothly each month.
Payroll can be complex, particularly across varied working patterns, additional hours, mileage and specialist placements. Liz approaches each task with professionalism, patience and a strong sense of responsibility.
