Gingham Nanny Agency is seeking a warm, empathetic and dependable Specialist Nanny to support a family with a six-year-old girl following her mother’s life-changing injury.
The support will be introduced gradually, beginning with short visits of approximately two to four hours. As trust and relationships develop, the position is expected to progress towards providing support across a full weekend every fortnight.

About the Role:

Location: Ponteland, Newcastle, NE20
Hours: Part-time hours developing into alternate-weekend support

The role will include:

– Building a safe, positive and trusting relationship with the child
– Providing attentive, child-centred care and engaging activities
– Supporting routines, outings and age-appropriate independence
– Offering sensitive and holistic support to the wider family
– Working collaboratively with the family, Gingham and the professional team
– Adapting support as the family’s needs and confidence develop
– Maintaining clear professional records and communication

We are looking for someone who is:

– Kind, patient, emotionally intelligent and reliable
– Confident supporting a family following serious injury or trauma
– Experienced in childcare, family support, SEN, rehabilitation or a related field
– Comfortable working alongside other professionals
– Able to build the role gradually and commit to alternate-weekend support
– A driver with their own car
– Willing to complete all required safeguarding and compliance checks

Relevant specialist experience would be welcomed; however, training and ongoing support will be provided to the right candidate.
Competitive hourly rate, dependent upon experience and the final working arrangement.
